Relay attacks
Keyless entry plus push-button start means a fob signal is all a relay crew needs.
Chevrolet · La Habra, CA
Spynex and IGLA immobilizers for the C8 Stingray, Z06, E-Ray and C7 Z06. Mobile installs around La Habra, Whittier, Fullerton and Brea.
Why the Corvette
The C8 opens with a proximity fob and starts with a button, which is exactly what relay crews look for. If the fob is close enough to grab, the car opens and starts like you're standing next to it. An immobilizer adds the one thing they can't relay: your code.
On the Corvette, your code goes in on buttons the car already has, like the steering wheel controls. Nothing new gets mounted on the dash, so there's nothing for a thief to spot or rip out.

Nothing about a Corvette is subtle, in a driveway or a parking lot.
A programmer at the port can pair a new key, and the factory system accepts it.
How the code works
Try it. Hit START without the code, then put the demo code in on the wheel buttons. That's what a thief gets with a programmed key on your Corvette: the first part.

IGLA vs Spynex
Both keep the engine blocked until your code goes in. Both hide on the CAN bus. Here's where they split, straight from each brand.

"Had a great experience with 12 Volt Shield Pros! Junior installed Spynex on my vehicle and did a great job. He was quick, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. He even came to my location, which made everything super convenient. Definitely recommend!"Jonny S. · Google review · 5.0 on Google

A factory alarm trusts any key the car accepts, including a relayed or programmed one. An immobilizer asks for a code those keys can't give it.
It's a short sequence on buttons you already touch. With Spynex Tag, the Bluetooth Tag can handle it for you.
