How Viper works
An alarm with

Newer cars get Spynex or IGLA on the CAN bus. A classic doesn't have one, so it gets a Viper: loud when someone messes with it, and Starter Interrupt helps keep it from starting during a security event.
Six-tone siren
A loud alert the second the system gets set off, so the whole block hears it.
Impact sensor
Picks up a hit or a disturbance around the car and sets the alarm off.
Flashing parking lights
The parking lights flash during an alert, so the car is easy to spot.

What about older or classic cars that don't have a CAN bus?
That's option two: a Viper alarm with a kill switch built in. Spynex and IGLA work over the CAN bus newer cars run on. For older and classic cars, a Viper security system adds a siren, an impact sensor and Starter Interrupt. Text us the year and we'll confirm the fit.
Is a Viper alarm a kill switch?
Viper security systems come with Starter Interrupt, which helps keep the car from being started during a security event. It does a kill switch's job, built into the alarm, with no extra switch to hide.
Can I control a Viper alarm from my phone?
Yes, with Viper SmartStart Pro. It adds lock, unlock and alarm status from the app, plus GPS location on demand. It works with a Viper system and needs an active SmartStart Pro service plan.
Can you add remote start too?
Yes. Viper's remote start and security systems do both, and the top 2-way remotes reach up to a mile. Text us the car first so we can make sure remote start fits it.
Do you come to me for a Viper install?
